Kajagoogoo is a British pop band formed in Leighton Buzzard, England, in 1981. The band members initially consisted of Limahl (vocals), Nick Beggs (bass guitar), Steve Askew (guitar), Stuart Neale (keyboards), and Jez Strode (drums). The band’s catchy pop tunes, fashion-forward image, and unique sound quickly gained them popularity in the early 1980s.
The band’s name, “Kajagoogoo,” is said to be a variation on a baby’s first sounds and was inspired by a child’s toy. Their music style blended elements of new wave, synth-pop, and dance music, making them a standout act in the British pop scene.
