Jane Asher is an English actress, author, and entrepreneur. Born on April 5, 1946, in Willesden, London, she grew up in a creative and talented family. Her father, Richard Asher, was a specialist in tropical medicine and her mother, Margaret Asher, was a professor of oboe at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Her elder brother, Peter Asher, went on to become a successful music producer.
Asher attended Queen’s College in Harley Street, London, and later studied at the Central School of Speech and Drama. She started her acting career at a young age, making her film debut as a child actress in the 1952 film “Mandy” when she was just six years old.
